Over the last year or more, I have observed some older Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors, as well as our weekend senior assistant, Fr. Jim Ronan having difficulty going up and down the altar sanctuary stairs without something to hold onto. With the unanimous support of the members of our Parish Pastoral Council and Parish Finance Council, and the approval of Archbishop Henning, we are in the process of having constructed and installed 4 custom made handrails for our rather expansive altar sanctuary.
These handrails will be located at the front 2 corners of the altar platform, and by the wall on the right rear side of the sanctuary, and on the left side adjacent to the altar server seats near the pulpit. The wood to be used for the handrails will blend in with the wood of the sanctuary. These new additions will help assure the safety and stability of our liturgical ministers and others who will use these stairs.
This project will cost approximately $8,000. If you would like to contribute toward the cost of this improvement, I invite you to make a donation in honor/memory of someone, and provide that information with your check payable to Holy Family Parish. Then, you can either send it in to our parish office or place it in the offertory collection basket. We will publish a list of donors and the person in whose memory/honor the gift was given in an upcoming parish bulletin. Thank you in anticipation of your generosity.
God bless you!
