Happy Easter!

In the course of life, many people end up asking themselves a profound question: “Is this all there is?” Have you ever asked yourself that question? It’s usually after a heightened awareness that what we’ve been “into” doesn’t really satisfy. There’s got to be more, something deeper that will offer hope and a new perspective and, in fact, a new life. That’s what Easter is all about. If you pondered our parish Vision Statement beside this column, it gives you a glimpse of what a vibrant faith in the Risen Jesus can offer – in terms of joy, community, meaning and purpose.

Jesus is our God who has saved us! Coming to know Jesus more, love Jesus more and seek to be more like Jesus will truly have a transformative effect in the way we think and feel and live our lives. A life centered in Jesus Christ offers a fullness of life and peace that nothing in this world can give. Participation in our Catholic faith through the Church that Jesus handed on to us is the means to be grounded in the Christ-life – particularly in Holy Eucharist: His true divine presence with us. Allowing His presence, His power, His love and goodness, His mercy and compassion overtake our lives… we will never be the same. St. Paul puts it this way, “It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.” (Galatians 2:20) It’s a gift. How do you want to respond to what Jesus offers you on such a day like today? It could be a wonderful new beginning of a journey with Jesus that will truly change your life!

God bless you!

Fr. Bob
