Confirmation Preparation

CHANGES ARE HAPPENING!!

The age of Confirmation has been lowered from 10th grade to 8th grade across the Archdiocese of Boston. This coming year, we will be Confirming our 8th, 9th and 10th graders.

10th graders who attend Confirmation Classes last year will continue their preparation for Confirmation in September and receive the Sacrament of Confirmation Saturday, October 26 or Sunday October 27 at 5:00pm parish Masses.

The 10th grade October Confirmation Ceremony prep sessions will be:

Sunday, September 22 from 6:15-7:45pm
Sunday, October 6 from 6:15-7:45pm
Sunday, October 20 from 6:30-8:00pm (parent and teen Evening of Reflection)

Please mark your calendar for these important dates!!

8th and 9th graders (as well as 10th, 11th and 12th graders who would like to receive Confirmation and were not in Faith Formation last year) will begin preparation for Confirmation in November and receive the Sacrament of Confirmation on Saturday March 29, 2025. Classes will be held on Sunday evening from 6:15-7:45pm. The format of the evenings will include speakers, small group discussions and various prayer experiences. Parents will join the teens for the last Confirmation session.

March Confirmation Prep sessions will be held on the following dates:
November 17
December 15
January 12
February 2
February 23
March 9
March 23 - Parent and Students together
March 29 - Confirmation Ceremonies

Registration for the 2024 - 2025 program has begun.

For ease and convenience, we have now moved all of our programs into one registration form for families to use, no matter the grade level, and created one pricing schedule throughout all programs. Click the link below to register for any of our Faith Formation programs.

Confirmation Retreats

Our October Confirmation Candidates and at least one parent will attend an Evening of Reflection on Sunday, October 20 at 6:30pm in the Church to spiritually prepare for Confirmation the following week. This Evening of Reflection will serve as their retreat.

For our March Confirmation Candidates, there will be a retreat on Saturday, January 25 from 12:00-6:00pm – ending with the 5:00pm Mass.

Service Hours

Our Service Hour Program is changing! Service is an important part of our Catholic faith and thus, is a part of our formation program. We will be offering service experiences throughout the year here at Holy Family and ask that students participate in at least two of those events.

Confirmation Date

Confirmation Masses for our 10th graders will be held Saturday, October 26 at 5:00pm & Sunday, October 27 at 5:00pm. You will have a chance to sign up for a specific Mass on the Faith Formation Registration Form.

Confirmations for our March Confirmation Candidates will be held Saturday March 29th.

Volunteers Needed

We need parent volunteers to help facilitate small group experiences during our break out session times. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Matt.
